I view my art like a web, woven with all the bits of my life. They began to collect when as a child, I was enchanted by the textures and patterns fabrics and endless days on the beach collecting treasures. Then further developed while attending Pratt Institute for my BFA and with a MA in Art therapy from Hofstra University. Pratt encouraged me to learn an art material and then to play with them in novel ways and with Hofstra, the emphasis was on art as a tool of communication; where the act of creating lead to something greater than words can express, going beyond the intellect into a deeper expression of oneself. My art is my cumulative truths, all the beauty and sorrows, hopes and despair, which find a way to transcend and build anew.
My artwork is fused glass; compatible glass which is melted in a kiln; each firing lasting about a day. I kiln fire each piece multiple times to temperatures ranging fro 1200 to 1500 degrees controlling how the glass melts, with this I create texture with that affects how the light moves through my art.
